Introducing our 2022 Biller of the Year, Nathan Richardson

Here at AEPartners, our team is integral to the success of our business. We are proud to have an incredibly dedicated team who go above and beyond for our clients and applicants.

With this, we are delighted to announce our very own VP of Operations in US and Canada, Nathan Richardson, as ‘Biller of the Year’ for 2022! Starting in 2017 with no experience in the industry, Nathan has worked his way up the ranks and billed nearly $1million last year. Nathan is a prime example of how hard work amounts to success, and we couldn’t be prouder to have him on our team.

Growing up, Nathan was always interested in sales, and after finishing school he began an apprenticeship at a large business. It was then his passion for sales grew, and he explored opportunities in recruitment. We sat down with Nathan to learn more about his experience, his time at AEP, and his top tips for success!

 Tell us about your journey at AEPartners?

 My journey at AEPartners has been up, down and everything in between. I love the business and what we have built, the clients we work with and the workers that represent us are fantastic. Seeing the business grow over the years and being at the heart of it has been great. I’m really proud of our achievements and the team that we’ve built.

What has been the highlight of your time working at AEPartners?

How we managed through Covid. It was a really strange and testing time and I think how we managed and how we have restructured is phenomenal. Again, that’s down to the team that works in the office, and those that represent us day to day, work working with our clients.

What has been your biggest achievement whilst working at AEPartners?

Growing within the business and being able to offer some fantastic opportunities to candidates looking for work for 5 years. I look forward to continuing and seeing what 2023 has to offer! 

What is the best advice you would give someone looking to get into the recruitment industry?

Don’t hold back, if you’re passionate about sales and people and helping others this is without doubt the right industry for you. Research your market and really make an effort to promote yourself and your service. Be original, be yourself, and strive to make a difference.

How has the industry changed since you joined the team in 2017?

There are way too many things I could list that have changed since then. We’ve had to adapt a lot and think of new ways to recruit and create meetings. I think one thing that can be noted specifically, is the shift in social media. It’s become a huge part of recruitment now and the developments that are being made are continuous. There are so many new platforms it’s become a great way to advertise job roles promote your brand and service as well as find candidates that you might not reach looking on a regular job board.

How do you see the industry evolving in the next five years?

I think this is a hard one, I can’t see the industry really evolving. There will be a lot of new technologies and social media changes/advancements. In my honest opinion, recruitment with the basic but right tools is the best way to work. Recruitment is about people and finding people their next job opportunity. There will always be new jobs and new candidates that are ready to work. It’s an exciting and fast-paced industry, I’m looking forward to looking back in 5 years’ time and seeing how things are then.
